When starting a novel, write out the top three things that will happen: 

1. The Starting Event-What kicks the story off and out of the regular routine the characters were in.
2. The Turn Point-The event that turns the events of the story and shakes up the original plans.
3. The Resolution-The event that will ‘end’ or resolve the conflict.
